About
Mr Inman is an consultant orthopaedic surgeon with special interests in lower limb (hip and knee) arthroplasty (joint replacement surgery), knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), knee realignment osteotomy for treatment of knee arthritis in young adults and complex extremity trauma (fracture) surgery including treatment of mal-unions and non-unions (fractures that haven’t properly healed with resultant ongoing pain or that have healed in an abnormal position affecting function).
He has worked as a consultant at Northumbria since 2010. He studied medicine at Bristol University and moved to the North East in 2001, undertaking higher surgical training in orthopaedics here before embarking on fellowships in Edinburgh and Grenoble, France. He has been the Trust’s lead surgeon for orthopaedic trauma and also the national orthopaedic lead surgeon for the National Hip Fracture Database (www.nhfd.co.uk) overseeing hip fracture care across the country.
