Our Vision
As the landscape of healthcare is constantly evolving so are we at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
By looking after the health of our communities. Now more than ever people are prioritising their personal health and so meeting the needs of both public and private patients has become an even more demanding necessity.
For many years, we have offered our services to private patients but as we move forward we aim to position ourselves in the market more strategically as a provider of private healthcare for those living in Northumberland, North Tyneside and beyond.
All profits generated from private activity will be re-invested in NHS frontline services.
Our priorities as an NHS Trust will not be impacted by this development. The NHS activity and performance will remain at the core of what we do.
This is a trust-wide service that patients can access a level of private activity across all sites, though the majority of work will be at Hexham General Hospital to begin with.
We will widen healthcare access whilst progressing our way of working too. It enables us to expand our expertise into the world of private healthcare, which is the right thing to do for patients allowing access to our services into the Independent sector.
