Miss Paola Serra

Ms. M.P. Serra Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Northumbria NHS Foundation Trust has considerable general plastic surgery experience from her early surgical training in Italy and has developed extensive experience from working at the prestigious Plastic Surgery Unit of Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow. She also worked at Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne and University Hospital of North Durham in Durham.

She has more than 20 years of experience in NHS and has excelled in a variety of plastic surgery fields. Her main specialty interest is breast surgery including immediate and delayed breast reconstruction with implant and autologous tissue such as free DIEP and muscle-sparing TRAM flaps, extended latissimus dorsi flap, reverse abdominoplasty and lipofilling, partial reconstruction of the breast with chest wall perforators flap following breast conserving surgery, different type of cosmetic surgery such as breast reduction, breast augmentation, asymmetry, mastopexy, tuberous breast, lipomodelling of the breast, post-bariatric surgery, blepharoplasty, otoplasty, abdominoplasty, and skin lesions. She is currently a Full member of BAPRAS, GMC, Northeast Medico-legal Society, BMA, MDDU and FRCS of England.
