Mr Ged Ainsworth

Mr Gerard Ainsworth is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon who has worked in the NHS for 16 years. His current NHS post is at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle.

He has a specialist interest in cataract and refractive surgery with extensive experience in corneal laser eye surgery and the use of multifocal intraocular lenses as well as improving the outcomes of routine cataract surgery. He has undertaken an advanced fellowship in anterior segment surgery and passed the postgraduate diploma in cataract and refractive surgery with distinction. Mr Ainsworth is also a leading proponent of same-day bilateral cataract surgery.
