About
Mr Carluke’s area of specialism is hip and knee replacement surgery (both primary and revision), knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery). Mr Carluke has been a consultant in the trust since 2003, having trained locally in the Northern Region. In addition he has had specialist training in joint replacement in Edinburgh and undertook a trauma fellowship in the United States.
He is active in research, primarily in primary and revision joint replacement and has a clinical interest in managing infected joint replacement and managing metastatic bone cancer.
He is the Clinical Lead for Primary and Revision Hip/Knee replacement Surgery, as well as the Clinical Lead for Metastatic Bone Disease.
He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
