About
Mr Kakwani studied medicine and then completed his post-graduation (Masters Degree) in Orthopaedics from the Mumbai University, India. He completed his MCh Orthopaedics degree from the University of Liverpool in 2006.
Mr Kakwani completed his Higher Surgical Training at the Northern Deanery, gaining the FRCS (Orth) accreditation in 2012. He was fellowship trained in foot and ankle surgery at Bristol and Sheffield.
Mr Kakwani completed the AO Trauma Fellowship in Hannover, Germany in 2011. He was awarded BOFAS Travelling fellowship to the Sigvard Hansen Foot and Ankle Unit, Seattle in 2014. He is and has been a Clinical and Educational Supervisor for the Orthopaedic Specialty Trainees and teaches in a variety of regional and national courses.
Mr Kakwani is the Quality Assurance lead for the national orthopaedic Specialist Advisory Committee. He is the external assessor for the Charing Cross training program. He is the Allied Healthcare Professional lead for the British Foot and Ankle Society Education Committee. He has served as a member of the National Orthopaedic Selection Design group. He is an FRCS Trauma & Orthopaedics Examiner. He is executive member of the British Indian Orthopaedic Society. He has been voted to be the ‘Trainer of the Year’ twice.
