Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Zoe and I am 37. I was diagnosed with spinal issues at the young age of 21. Over the years I have suffered a lot with daily pain and been restricted in doing a lot of things day to day.
Why did you choose Northumbria Health?
I chose Northumbria Health because I have been a patient of Mr Jensen for 16 years. He is an amazing consultant and I felt safe and confident going into a procedure like this with Mr Jensen.
What was your experience like before the procedure?
I had explored various things over the years to try and control my pain (acupuncture, physio, chiropractor, cortisone injections, nerve root blockers and numerous medications) but nothing worked long term and my pain became more severe with no relief. I struggled dressing myself, moving around, was in constant pain and in the end it affected my mental health significantly.
What was your experience like after the procedure?
I couldn’t believe how good I felt so soon after the procedure. Recovery was a few weeks but the relief I felt was incredible. I am now able to dress myself, no longer need to take
medication every four hours and can get out and enjoy walks with my dog and do more things with my family.
What impact has having this procedure had on your life?
It has changed my life! Literally from waking up after the procedure I felt relief. The pain from the procedure was nowhere near the pain I had prior. As the recovery progressed my mobility became a lo better and after day five, I was able to stop taking medication and haven’t had to use any since, something I haven’t been able to do for a very long time!
Would you recommend Northumbria Health to a friend or family member?
The care I received whilst in hospital was brilliant and I would absolutely recommend Mr Jensen. He is kind, empathetic and explains everything so clearly. Thank you for giving me my quality of life back Mr Jensen!
